Unified Communication Platform

UCP - Unified Communication Platform - Simplicity of Unified Messaging

The UCP (Unified Communication Platform) solution offers users unified communication services enabling them to customize their answering service and manage their messages (e-mails, fax and voice messages) as well as their presence, from the same interface using the right terminal at any time (e-mail, fixed telephone, GSM, web browser, smartphone, iPhone etc.).
UCP is a powerful multimedia messaging system for convenient access and for the management of faxes, e-mails and voice messages from any point using a wide range of media.
State-of-the-art technologies, such as Text-To-Speech (TTS), are used to completely redefine the message access interface (e-mails in particular) and to safely enhance users mobility.
Furthermore, the company’s call distribution service is simplified by the implementation of speech recognition technology. This allows the user to simply reach a contact person within the company.

UCP can be easily integrated into a large number of e-mail systems, including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange, Novel GroupWise, etc., or any other, IMAP4-compatible e-mail server (Internet Message Access Protocol) such as Eudora mail. On the other hand, UCP is compatible with Internet messaging clients of the Microsoft Outlook Web Access type.

Benefits
  • Quality of call distribution
  • Better team work
  • Unification of flows
  • Rich, modular and scalable solution
The main functions supported by UCP include:
  • Voice messaging: this feature provides customisable greetings features, the possibility to notify or transfer a voice message or a fax on another set or on e-mail address. Furthermore, it supports functions such as management of call distribution lists, call recording and, as an option, fax reception via the user’s voice mailbox.
  • Automated Voice attendant: automated voice attendant services are available for a company’s greetings, as a supplement of basic voice messaging. The automated voice attendant provides call-by-name functions from the set keyboard, and also speech recognition.
  • Unified messaging: UCP provides a single interface to access voice messages, fax messages and e-mail. As the messages are stored in the same mailbox, e-mails can be read via text to speech technology. Compatibility is not limited to Lotus Notes, Novell GroupWise, Microsoft Exchange/Outlook, UCP can interconnect with any mail server supporting the IMAP4 protocol.
  • UC Client: depending on the configuration, features as CTI are available: Call set-up (dialler), pop-up files, call log received in the voice mailbox, recall without redialling via the PC interface, status management and presence management, instant messaging (IM) function.
  • Web portal: depending on the configuration, each user can specify the settings of his/her voice mailbox and manage all types of voice, e-mail and fax messages (e-mail message managed only in unified mode) via a web interface.
  • Fax management: the fax management module allows fax reception via the e-mail client and provides access to the fax by phone, with re-routing to a physical fax or an e-mail address. Moreover, "Fax on demand" functions are available via IVR.
  • Multilingual Text to Speech: the technology allows UCP to read the voice signature of each user and also written messages (e-mail, SMS) through phone set with excellent voice quality.
  • Speech recognition: a speech recognition directory can also be implemented on UCP database following configurations simplifying company’s greetings. The speech recognition technology is integrated in the UCP.
  • Fixed Mobile convergence
  • Networking: UCP can use the VPIM protocol (Voice Profile for Internet Messaging) to interface with other UCP systems or with messaging systems from other manufacturers.
  • Server administration: administrator profiles can be defined in order to enable several persons to manage voice mailboxes, class of services, company’s users, etc. All the applications available to the system administrator are designed in a Windows environment with an interactive online help.
  • Statistics which enable the user to easily create reports on the use of the UCP system
  • The LDAP module installed on the UCP server simplifies the implementation of voice mail services within the company. An external directory based on LDAP can be imported into UCP. Moreover, the import of delimited text files is also possible.
