Aastra VoIP (Voice over IP)

VoIP (Voice over IP)

VoIP means that the voice stream to be transmitted has to be processed such that it can be transported over an IP data connection. For voice communication, the existing data connections are used and the separate voice connection can be dispensed with.

VoIP covers everything where the Internet Protocol (IP) is used for the voice transmission.

Voice over IP: SIP is the key
The key technology when combining voice and data communications is the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). Aastra supports SIP both in the communication system as well as on the side of the subscriber.
VoIP and SIP offer numerous advantages and possibilities, create flexibility and save costs.

Flexibility, investment protection, future-proof and the highest level of availability are the characteristics that sum up the Aastra IP communication system.

Flexibility: Anywhere that an Internet connection is available, functional communications infrastructures can be set up in the shortest of times and with a comparably small amount of effort.

Network clusters: Different company locations, between which data connections are already in use, can be seamlessly interconnected. This also applies to the integration of home office and teleworking workplaces.

Expandable infrastructure: Additional system telephones, mobility solutions and other components, for example applications, can be integrated without the need for additional cabling.

"Free" internal calls: For all communication devices that are integrated in the company's IP network, the customary ISDN call charges are no longer applicable.
